TEAM ROLE: Seasonal Beertender (Saturday evenings)

SUMMARY:

The Seasonal Beertender role is focused on providing friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive service that will create an exceptional experience for guests. This team member will be responsible for describing, selling, and pouring drinks, as well as serving as an expert on Flounder Brewing Co., our products, and craft beer broadly. We are seeking someone who is available to work Saturday evenings until 11 p.m. through the end of December.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Foster a welcoming and friendly experience for all guests

  • Educate guests on craft beer and our offerings

  • Serve draft beer and other beverages

  • Check identification to verify guests are of legal age to purchase alcohol and serve guests in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations

  • Operate the point-of-sale system (Square)

  • Maintain a clean work area and tasting barn by removing trash, cleaning tables, and collecting and washing glasses and equipment

  • Communicate clearly with guests and other team members

  • Perform other tasks as needed to support smooth operation of the tasting barn

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 21 years of age

  • You must like beer.

  • Must not work in any other alcohol tier. We are a manufacturer.

  • This role requires initiative and hustle.

  • We do not require previous service and/or brewery experience.

  • Strong sense of humor

  • Ability and willingness to serve calmly in a loud and fast-paced environment

  • Ability and willingness to take initiative when environment is at a lull

  • Ability and willingness to lift 50 lbs.

  • Ability and willingness to stand on feet for up to 8 hours

  • NOTE: We conduct a background check on all final candidates.

HOURS PER WEEK = 6 on Saturdays from 5 to 11 p.m. until the end of December.

DEFINITION of SEASONAL = April through the end of December. Thereafter, you remain an active team member, but you will not have a guaranteed recurring shift until the busy season begins again in late March. You will be welcome and encouraged to apply for other open shifts as they arise and you are available.

PAY DURING orientation = $18.59 per hour (no tips)

PAY AFTER orientation = $8 per hour (plus cash and credit tips)
