OUTDOOR SEATING UPDATE:
The front stone patio is 21+ only at all times.
The back patio and south paddock seating is all ages. We kindly ask absolutely NO ball playing of any kind and minors MUST BE accompanied by an adult AT ALL TIMES.

From November 1st through March 31st, we are 21+ on Saturdays after 6:00 p.m.

For large groups, please CLICK HERE for information on renting private space. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis and do not take reservations.

At Flounder Brewing, it’s all about bringing people together. Whether you're reconnecting with friends, making memories with family, or striking up a conversation with someone new, our brewery is a place where good beer and good vibes come naturally. We believe the best moments are shared – over thoughtfully crafted brews, meaningful conversation, and a welcoming space that feels like home.

Step inside our historic 250+ year-old Dutch barn, beautifully restored and reimagined as our signature tasting room – the heart of the Flounder experience. Located on scenic Carriage Farm in Hillsborough, NJ, our brewery features two unique barns: one dedicated to brewing with both a 15-barrel and 3-barrel brewhouse, and the other to tasting and gathering. Every visit promises a memorable beer journey rooted in tradition, craft, and community.

We are proudly BYOF (Bring Your Own Food) – New Jersey law doesn’t allow us to sell food, but we’ve got you covered! From March through December, we host a rotating lineup of local food trucks Thursdays through Sundays. Check out the current food truck schedule HERE.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR VISIT:

  • We do not allow table or seat saving. Your food, presents, and other packages must be kept at the table where you and your party are currently seated. We do not permit the use of empty tables as a staging area for food or gifts.

  • We cannot accommodate large groups or parties in our general seating areas. If you would like to host an event at our barns, you must rent our hay loft. Please click HERE for more information on private events. For special situations, please email us at contact@flounderbrewing.com.

  • Yes, dogs are welcome on our outdoor patios only. This policy is in accordance with regulations from the Hillsborough Health Department.

  • Minors are allowed, but they must be seated at your table and accompanied by an adult at all times.

    The front patio is 21+ only at ALL TIMES. The back patio and field seating is all ages.

    Please note: from November 1st to March 31st, we are 21+ only on Saturdays after 6:00 PM.

  • No, minors are not permitted in our hay loft (the second level) during regular business hours. The only exception is for private, contracted events where they are part of the rental agreement.

  • No, we do not allow guests to bring in outside non-alcoholic beverages. We sell a variety of options including seltzers, sodas, and teas. Check out our on-site beverage offerings HERE.

  • Please do not move any furniture yourself. If you need a different arrangement, please ask a team member and they will be happy to assist you.

  • Everyone in your party who will be consuming alcohol must come to the bar for an ID check before being served.

  • Yes. There is no smoking or vaping allowed on our direct premises. Please ask a Flounder team member to point you toward Carriage Farm's designated smoking area.

  • We are a BYOF (Bring Your Own Food) establishment, so you are welcome to bring your own food. You can also check the farm’s food truck calendar by clicking HERE.

  • Absolutely no outside alcohol is permitted on the premises. This also applies to non-alcoholic beverages, as we have a wide selection available. Check our our on-site beverage offerings HERE.

  • Buses of any type are not allowed on-site. Please make arrangements for drop-off or alternative transportation.

  • No. For safety reasons and to protect our furniture, nothing may be attached to the tabletops, especially portable child highchairs.

HOST YOUR NEXT EVENT AT OUR BARNS!

Looking for an amazing one-of-a-kind spot for a private party or special event? Our tasting barn’s hay loft is the perfect venue. It is the second floor of our tasting barn.

We can accommodate groups of 35 to 49 people*. All events include dedicated space with private tables. We offer a fresh selection of beer on tap, as well as an assortment of board games for your guests to enjoy.

*Smaller parties may be able to be accommodated when booked close to the date of the event.
