FROM A DREAM IN 2005 TO REALITY
When Flounder Brewing first took shape in the minds of its founder, the vision was clear: to cultivate a thriving brewery that would evolve into a full-time venture, complete with a passionate team, an inviting atmosphere, and a picturesque setting steeped in narrative. This dream wasn't just about crafting exceptional beer; it was about crafting an unparalleled experience, fostering community, and creating a destination unlike any other.
In 2013, Flounder Brewing set its roots in a modest garage within an industrial park. Yet, amidst those humble beginnings, brothers Flounder, Dan, and Cousin Billy remained steadfast in their commitment to the brewery's ultimate vision. With each passing year and with the dedication of their team, the brewery steadily grew, paving the way for a significant expansion.
After an extensive search, Flounder Brewing discovered the perfect location to elevate both production capacity and guest experience. Nestled within the picturesque landscape of Hillsborough, Carriage Farm on Amwell Road became Flounder Brewing's new home. Following a meticulous year of refurbishment, Flounder Brewing transformed the historic 250+-year-old barn into a brewery taproom, offering an unparalleled experience for visitors.
Fast forward through meticulous planning and construction, and in June 2021, Flounder Brewing proudly opened its doors to the public in its new, breathtaking setting. With the Guest experience still the focal point of it all.
