Reid Andrés (also performing as RC Andrés) is a singer-songwriter who crafts cinematic songs that blend earthy folk, soulful world rhythms, and the bittersweet twang of country—a cocktail served on the rocks, with heart and grit.
Born with a drummer’s heartbeat and raised in suburban Philadelphia, Reid’s musical journey began in jazz and flourished across the globe: in the subways of Barcelona, the drum circles of Ghana, and along the pacific shores of Samoa. These diverse landscapes shaped a musical voice that is as rich and varied as his travels.
For over a decade, Reid was a rhythmic force in New York City, wielding cajons, congas, and percussion at iconic venues like The Iridium, Barbes, and Zinc. Collaborating with Latin rumberos and Brazilian sambistas, he became a sought-after musician. But it was when Reid turned to the guitar and began writing and singing his own songs that his true artistic voice emerged.
Drawing from Americana and Country traditions, Reid writes songs steeped in grit, grace, and humanity. His debut album, Distilled (2019), introduced listeners to a storyteller who captures life’s raw edges and quiet ironies—from the beauty of anonymity in New York City with “No Place” to the satirical grin of “Miss America.”
