Greg Gillette - Revolutionary Hillsborough

The talk will include a description of Hillsborough in the 1770s and why the area was important during the war. Also included will be some lesser-known stories of Hillsborough patriots!

Gregory Gillette is the Local Historian for Hillsborough and a twenty-year member of the Township's Historic Commission. He has been writing about local history since 2007, beginning with his Courier News column "Gillette on Hillsborough” and continuing today with a popular Facebook page of the same name. His first book, We Sing Their Praise Forever: Historic Schoolhouses of Hillsborough, New Jersey 1725-1925, is scheduled for publication in 2026.

The New Jersey Studies Academic Alliance (NJSAA) is an interdisciplinary organization dedicated to advancing teaching and research about New Jersey. The organization brings together educators, historians, geographers, museum professionals, archivists, and librarians.
